Music as the medium, Positive Change as the goal.
One of the great joys of any musician’s life is the ability to perform with colleagues in a chamber music setting, where each of us acts in a key, yet interdependent role. The simple concept behind Music for a Purpose is to share that joy with the community, and at the same time focus a spotlight on important current issues and charitable needs. Kentucky Refugee Ministries will benefit from our next concert in January 2025, raising donations for their vital work to support resettlement in our community. Last November performances supported Maryhurst Center for children and families. In September we did several performances for Olmsted Parks and future programs in Season 3 include the Louisville Nature Center. Prior concerts included Louisville Climate Action Network and their important work providing educational programming on climate action, strategic advocacy for smarter public policies and energy-efficiency services for other nonprofits. Also in Season 2, we partnered again with KRM and 2 new organizations, the Earth and Spirit Center and the Healing Place. The Earth and Spirit Center focuses on bringing awareness to human interaction in the natural world through education, mindfulness training, environmental camps and many social justice programs as well. The Healing Place helps those struggling with addiction recovery get resettled in their lives and has had a lot of success in the Louisville community.
We are so excited to be starting this chamber music series, but need your help for it to continue to grow. All funds raised here will go towards covering the costs of future concerts, including artists, performance venues, advertising, publicity and administrative costs, and more. Thank you for your help and generosity!
